Made with 7.5 tons of steel from the World Trade Center, the steel was reforged in Amite, LA and are part of the heel of the ship. Built in Avondale, LA, the USS NEW YORK set sail for New York City on October 13, 2009. These pictures were shot as it went under the Crescent City Connection in New Orleans.
